The first website, by the former nun, is selling four books she wrote to denigrade the catholic church.  Obviously she wouldn't have left the church if she had not been unhappy with it.  So her books are intended to dissuade people from joining the church, or staying there.

A quick search on google shows that there seems to be some doubt about the existence of the author "Mary Ann Collins."

In any case I scanned the content of the website. For someone who was supposedly a "nun", the author doesn't have a clue about what the Church teaches or why. It reads like a typical anti-Catholic fundamentalist boilerplate, the only difference is that it is attributed to a "nun."

Don't know if your fimiliar w/christian rock/metal or not, but there was this band in the late 80's early 90's called "Vengeance Rising", Roger Martinez was the vocalist, also a very vocal christian apologist for the underground christian scene, he worked w/pastor Bob Beeman from the ministry "Sanctuary." He apostasized in the mid 90's, wich sent shock waves through that community, he later set up a web site to blaspheme and pour out his anger and hatred to the ones he used to work with, accusing them of ripping him off. He rounded up some athiests to debate christians on the site, the one in question is Ian, known as "WolfgangPychon" on the board that was hacked. Just to note, I later became friends w/Ian, he is quite kind and considerate, as long as you don't challange him w/out being a worthy opponent!

Well, like Homer Simpson would say, "D'OH!!!"  Suddenly the thought occurs to me that, as you suggest, "Mary Ann Collins" may well be a "pen name" for some anti-Catholic "hack" pretending to be a Nun!  "Well, gee, DUH, Marshall, ya THINK?!"  :?  SIGH!!! And, of course, the fact that I found the link on a Fundamentalist Baptist website on the thread of a guy dissing Catholics could have been a CLUE, too!  SHEEZE! Wake up, Marshall! Guess I better go drink something with caffeine in it! Lucky I am not a Mormon!  Well, ya'll keep pitching them and I'll keep swinging at them and, hey, maybe at times I will even manage to CONNECT!  Well, maybe I'll go find the albino Monk, in the Davinci Code, have him whack me with his whip and then I'll go get some coffee!! Ha, ha!  Anybody got any chocolate covered donuts? Have to go see Homer Simpson and borrow some of his!  Well, like the scripture says, "the Lord preserveth the simple!"  ;)

Well Marshall - don't feel bad- I dismissed the site and since she says on the site that she was only in the first steps of joining an order I figured she flunked Catholism 101 but even never thought to google for her and never thought that she might not be real!!

About the EWTN article about the psychotherapist corruptinh the Sisters of Mercy during the 70s...I just cam upon a new item where one of the sisters, now 79:shock: was convicted of raping boys 40 years ago. I was surprised that they could prosecute so much later.

The Colson article mentioned it causing a lot of sexual acting out during that time and I wondered that these might be victims of that "therapy".
