Dear Group,
After reading several emails and postings on the Abortion debate, I have concluded that it is the best intrest in myself and the nation if I went along with the Pro-Life agenda and vote Republican. My candidate is McCain because I feel that he has the best stants on the pro-life issue as well as the war. I also think that Huckabee will be the vice presidential runningmate.

At this point in time, I don't see how a faithful Catholic could make any other choice. But the election is still many months away, so we will have to see what happens.

I listened to the Drew Mariani show on Relevant Radio today. One of his guests today was Sheila Liaugminas. Much of the discussion concerned how critical it was to uphold the sanctity of life by supporting the pro-life candidates. One caller mentioned that there were other issues that need to be considered besides abortion, including in his opinion - the unjust war in Iraq, immigration, etc. Both Drew and Sheila disagreed with the caller by stressing that the sanctity of life as represented in the abortion issue is the bedrock of any human rights issues. At one point a Bishop was quoted as saying that the eternal souls of many Catholics are at stake over this issue, thus stressing the strong teaching that the Church has on this issue. I also watched a portion of Faith and Culture on EWTN tonight. I can't remember the Bishop's name (he was from St. Louis) that he would not give communion to a polititian who supported abortion. He went on to say that we need to pray for Bishops and others in the Church to have the courage to be true to the Church's teachngs and not give in to the temptation to "be nice". He mentioned that as a Father needs to provide correct instruction to his children even if they would not like what is being said, you are demonstrating true love by saying the truth.
I know that abortion is what is being focused on during this season of lent. To fast and pray that it would no longer be accepted in this nation and to be rid of its scourge.

Choose the lesser of the evils.
The National Right to Life Committee has listed the positions of the major candidates on all pro-life issues. It is attached to this message.
