Hi, I just joined.....thought maybe as a convert I could contribute a bit.  I have two friends who were on the show a while back but it took me a while to find the website, lol!:D
Anyhow, glad to be here.  Some stuff that's not in that little infobox on the side there that may be of interest - I pray the Roman LOTH daily, am learning the Byzantine Hours; I homeschool; I wear a mantilla at Church; I'm a pledged member of the Confraternity of Penitents; My hobbies are irish dancing, crochet, and reading.  I think that's it!

Hi Sieglinde,

Welcome. You sound like you'll be a wonderful addition to our forum. We're delighted to have you here. Pull up a chair by the fire and join right in!

P.S. Your parents aren't Richard Wagner fans, are they? :) He's my favorite composer.

Dave, you wouldn't happen to have any children named Siegfried or Tristan, would you?

Hi Kim!  Interesting that you think I sound interesting....I think of myself as a pretty run-of-the-mill type person (with the exception of the Irish dancing thing....I embarrass my kids regularly with impromptu performances!)  Oh, and then there would be the person in my parish (very small parish, average attendance 55) who says that, in my mantilla, I remind him of his mother.....and he's old enough to be MY dad!:D

Hello, Sieglinde. Welcome to the forum.

About those three saints of yours--

Did they come into the world as saints?
Or have you discovered some secrets other parents should know? ;)

So glad you have joined us.

Becky

No, but I've got a Paul and another with the middle name of Newman (and my confirmation name is Johh Henry). That gives you an idea of who I have in mind!

Paul Newman?  :)

Hi, Sieglinde, welcome to the forum.  I'd like to say that I'm new here, too, but if I did the rest of the crowd would run me off!

I'm not exactly Irish either, but I've often said if I couldn't be Cajun, Irish would be my second choice.  I have a rather large collection of Irish blessings and sayings on my web site that I've been collecting for a decade or so, and I'd be glad to have any sayings you could add.

Welcome again, and welcome to the Coming Home Network.  We're glad you joined us.

Becky, they aren't saints yet.....but by the grace of God I'll give them the tools to become saints (and maybe it's a bit of positive thinking on the days when I wonder what planet they come from  :))

I saw elsewhere that you had taught a son, at age ten, to pray the LOTH.

I'd say your son will probably have much to answer for if he does not become a saint. What a mom!

What a blessing! No doubt you will have even deeper insights into the heart of Mary as you help prepare him for that possibility.
