Okay, who's with me? Let's get our Rambo attitudes on and go give those servers that are slowing this board down to a snail's crawl what for!! :drowning:

How about you, Rick? :applause Saddle up that gator and let's go git 'em! Grrrr! I'm tired of my posts getting eaten and pages loading slower than dial-up!

I'm as frustrated as everyone else.  I work for an Internet service provider with a direct pipeline to the Internet backbone, and it's just as slow for me as for everyone else.  For the last two weeks I haven't been able to post from home at all, but I finally figured out a work-around (not a fix) that works sometimes.

The only solution I can propose is to change hosting providers, but that's not my call.  The speed problems are most likely a setting that needs to be changed, but since they won't respond to support requests, I can't ask them to change it.  :helpme:

Sounds like someone needs to lose some business! Time to get another provider, IMHO. :begging:

Btw, I was just trying to be humorous with you, Rick. A good way to blow off stress. I know it's not your fault. :wantpie:

Growl...now I am getting frustrated too.  I just lost my message because of this system.  It's time to saddle up the crock and let him go.  I use a T1 line and this site is as slow as the old 25K lines.  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

:woohoo:I thought it was just me.  I have AT&T, their top speed DSL, and it is so slow on here :shrugging:  This song comes to mind - guess I am telling my age :wantpie:
[font="arial"]LET'S HAVE ANOTHER CUP OF COFFEE
Album : Songs Of The Depression
(Irving Berlin)
Fred Waring & His Pennsylvanians - 1932

Just around the corner,
There's a rainbow in the sky,
So let's have another cup of coffee,
And let's have another piece of pie.

Trouble's like a bubble,
And the clouds will soon roll by,
So let's have another cup of coffee,
And let's have another piece of pie.

Let a smile be your umbrella,
For it's just an April shower,
Even John D. Rockefeller
Is looking for the silver lining!

Mr. Herbert Hoover
Says that now's the time to buy,
So let's have another cup of coffee,
And let's have another piece of pie!

FWIW, at work I have a 38 GHz pipeline directly into the Internet backbone.  Every web site on the Internet is instantaneous.  Except one.

As they used to say on The Outer Limits:  th eproblem is not with your set.

I have complained more than once already in other threads.

I use Safari instead of IE which helps some. I try to remember to write my posts in a word processor (complete with code) and then paste my message into the forum box. At least I don't lose as many posts doing that.

HOWEVER, I have time to pray a decade of the Rosary between the time I hit SEND and the time the system processes it. Those delays occur with every attempt to navigate within the forum. :needhelp:

I keep on keeping on here because I love the folks and believe in the mission of trying to help and encourage others. It seems obvious, however, that we must be losing inquirers because of the intolerable slowness.

Lord, give me grace. Lord, give us a new provider. :begging:

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, this in YOUR forum, for YOUR glory and honor, to nourish YOUR people.  Now Jesus we just celebrated your Resurrection and we anxiously await our Pentecost.  Jesus you make straight and with haste, put this forum in YOUR working order, that we may 'quickly' nourish souls by sharing faith through the answering and discussion of questions and ideas.  Then rejoice with the souls as they come to YOUR Church to join in YOUR Eucharistic Meal and the breaking open of YOUR Word.  Come Lord Jesus make it so that none will be lost or discouaged as they see Pentecost through the eyes of YOUR Church.  All for you Jesus and in your holy name we pray.  Amen!

Believe me, it is an incredible drag to try to work here 30 hours a week, putting up with this snail's pace navigation. It's utterly foreign to my rapid pace style of writing and working. It's really too bad because I enjoy this work, and the main drawback or "occupational hazard" of my work day is this technical nonsense. Obviously, I can't get as much posted, either, until the slowness is corrected somehow.

I have a Comcast cable connection which is very fast. I had to stop using Firefox to browse here, but I can at least access the forum with Internet Explorer. Rick can't even access it from home without some roundabout "emergency / alternative method". Rest assured that it is a general problem, and not one of your computer only.

We've expressed our frustrations to CHNI staff (and I'm staff, too, but I have no control over this problem). If many of you are also unhappy about it, I suggest writing letters to CHNI and complaining. It's like anything else, I reckon: the squeaky wheel gets the grease . . .

I can't see that it helps anything (including the CHNI mission of reaching out and helping new and potential converts) to have a super-slow forum. I wouldn't have the patience for it, myself, if I wasn't working here, as a staff member and "network apologist."

As a two day old forum newbie, it has not kept me away.  Of course I will sit and do anything (especially nothing) to avoid grading this stack of papers on my desk!

Write a response. Hit send. Pray one Maximus Rapiditus Internetae.

PLEASE do not post error messages publicly!  They could give spammers and malcontents the information they need to hack the system!

I am getting this same error at least 25 times a day.  You are not alone!

Well, if I'm going to complain when it's slow, I'll have to praise when it's faster. And the board IS faster tonight! Yippee!! Thank you, Lord!
