I've had no trouble at all today. It seems perfectly normal after the upgrade. Let's hope it is a general phenomenon and that it'll last. Work this week has been a drag (no pun intended) because the forum has been SO

Seems to be runnin' smokin' fast over here, Dave.

If this keeps up, I'll probably be more active here.

Me too! I've lost many hours of work this week because of this. I suppose it is God's Providence, tho, because I'm writing a new book about Luther this week too and there are only so many hours in a day, and I STILL have this miserable cold (all prayers :praying: appreciated!).

Well Dave, it is like this. If you let a cold go untreated, it will last for two weeks. However, if you do something to treat it, it will only last for 14 days.  ;)

Man, what a relief! Our prayers were answered!

I think this must mean we have all acquired a sufficient level of patience now.
That is what it means, isn't it? :winking:

Dave, sorry about your bad cold. I fought mine for ten days and finally got an antibiotic which knocked it. I will remember you in my prayers.

If you can get well AND have a smokin' fast forum, wow, you'll be in business. You'll be cranking out fifty long papers each day! :woohoo:

Becky

You too?  Man, I've set some sort of record for congestion, seriously!!  After eight days it's beginning to break up and my temp is close to normal.  It was a good time for the server to be slow! :eyeroll:

For a couple weeks (I think), I couldn't even log in.  Firefox didn't work at all, and IE wouldn't let me log in.  But Rick patiently and persistently helped me out and now I'm having so much fun being part of the family again - on the inside, not on the outside looking in!

YAY!!

Rick is great!!     :bowing:

Oooh, I'll have to see if it works on Internet Explorer again now.  I had to switch to using Firefox because I couldn't hardly get on the side with IE.

I'm trying out Firefox 3 Beta 5, which is twice as fast as Firefox 2. With the forum server improvements and the 38 GB connection I have to the Internet at work, this thing is absolutely screaming!

Funny that IE doesn't work for three people, and my experience is the exact opposite. My usual Firefox browser wouldn't work so I've had to use IE exclusively for the forum. Now maybe with the upgrade it'll be different. I haven't checked yet.

Testing Firefox. It works for me, but still doesn't allow one to add links, like IE does.

Unfortunately, I'm still encountering the same errors as before, albeit they are happening much faster.  I still can't click a link to a thread unless I open it in a new tab, and this afternoon at work I was unable to post a message.  (It worked all morning.)

I've tried all the tricks I know and nothing helps.  I'll keep trying.  Meanwhile, at least there is a work-around.  At least for now.  But if I disappear you'll know the work-around quit working.

I have a number of browsers on my computer. Once the forum was running right, I checked them. All worked except one. I logged out and reset the cookie. Everything was fine after that. Can’t say if it will work for everyone, but it did for me.

To reset the forum’s cookie, you log out, then begin to log back in, but instead of entering your user name and password, you click on the “reset cookie” button. This will kick you back out. Then you log back in normally.

Been there, done that.  Deleted the browser cache.  Cleared the temporary files.  Cleaned out the recycle bin.  Went searching the hard drive and deleted the left over temp files.  Revealed and deleted the appropriate hidden files.  Deleted security programs, antivirus, malware detectors, and firewalls.  Downloaded a brand new browser.  It worked fine for an hour, then I couldn't post at all.  (Reading worked fine.)

Once I got home, I'm back to having to open every link in a new tab.  My next step is to completely obliterate the browser, profiles, plugins, cache files, etc., and then download it again and start over.  Meanwhile, at least I do have a workaround.

My thoughts on this:  Are you speaking English?????

'So thankful you know what you're talking about!
