:crying2:On behalf of the University of Tennessee, I would like to humbly express our very deepest sympathy to LSU fans on this occasion of the loss of the LSU women's basketball team to the University of Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team in the NCAA playoffs!  :( ;)

It was a game that could have gone either way, and LSU certainly has nothing to be ashamed for, but in the end Tennessee earned the win and deserves our congratulations.  :waving:

My mother's from New Orleans, and my father's from Tennessee.  I couldn't figure out for whom to root!:shrugging:

Rocky Top, you'll always be

Home sweet home to me

Good ole Rocky Top

Rocky Top TN

Go Big Orange!!

Is that it?  My brother is a big UT fan.  He taught my toddlers to sing that and gave them a singing dancing UT mascot.

Sorry, Rick.  I don't know the LSU song.

Congrats to both teams for a good game!:applause

Since ya'll are ignoring my post this morning I just wanted to remind you who the Lady Vols must face.  I snuck in with this a couple of weeks ago and nobody took me seriously.  Now.....HAH....we are there and the Lady Vols got there work cut out for them.  Our Lady Cardinal are hungry and anxious to break the curse the Vols have had on us for so many years.  It's our turn...............

On that night, in that place, the better team won.  On a different night, or in a different place, or under different circumstances, the outcome would have been different.  So be it.

No gagging.  An appearance in the Final Four is quite good, and we are very proud of them.  It is crawfish season, and they just wanted to get home.

Seriously, I have eaten blood oranges.  Straight off the tree when we lived in Sicily.  :yum:  They're OK, but I never developed the passion for them that my Italian neighbors expected out of me.  They have to sweeten the juice with sugar to make it palatable.  No 100% blood orange juice, with no sugar added, is sold in the grocery store there.

Maybe that red will fade to orange...;)

Maybe here in California, they turn sweet.  All the ones I've tasted were super sweet.  Ummmm, love em.  Fade????  Naw, no room for Orange around here.

Actually, the University of Tennessee's colors come from the daisies which used to bloom all over the campus in Knoxville! They had a sort of orange center with the white petals! ;)

Congratulations to a great Tennessee team. You showed who was the best team tonight. I'm proud of our Stanford women. They had a great season, but tonight just wasn't their night. The legs were gone and they were out of gas. When you miss baskets like they did you know the legs have lost their spring. Not to take away anything from the Volunteers. Great defense wins most of the time. It doesn't hurt to have perhaps the greatest coach of all time too.
It was fun hyping the game. But I'll go back to the kitchen and prepare the crow. Ya'll don't mind if I strip off the feathers first do you?
Congrats to the winners.

Rich

:) I'm delighted that the other Tenn. team, (Memphis)men's team lost last night. Only because I'm still aghast at the mess John "Coach Cal" Calipari left up here at  UMass following the Minutemen's loss to Kentucky, coached by UMass alum Rick Pitino.

Sorry for Memphis fans, but I think your team is cursed so long as "Coach Cal" is in charge. Make sure your players attend their classes, and they don't take "bling" -- otherwise your Conference and Final Four banners might wind up hanging from the rafters of a local pizzeria instead of your field house/arena. :embarrassed:

Well, don't eat crow, yuck! Instead, have a big heaping dish of Stanford Cardinal PRIDE in those fine ladies, those super athletes who made it all the way to the final two!  And, who knows? If the game hadn't been played so late and if it had been a few days from now, say on Saturday, the outcome might have been different! Likewise with the LSU game!  And, frankly, although glad that LSU and Stanford made it so far, I would rather have seen Tennessee beat UCONN (sorry UCONN fans, ha, ha) who has kicked Tennessee's keisters a number of times over the years.  Also, we should pray for Pat Summitt whose husband left her last year at some point as I understand it. She is probably going back home to Knoxville to an empty house so at least she will have this achievement to boost her spirits.  And Tennessee's economic situation has, especially in eastern Tennessee where I grew up (born in Virginia and raised in eastern Tennessee), been TERRIBLE so winning athletics teams have been the one bright spot in a dismal economy there.  Anyway, I figure that Stanford will be right back to the women's basketball championships next year and into the championships in other sports as well not to mention produing outstanding alumni who are a blessing to our nation!  So, hold your head high, my friend, and together we will yell "Go Cardinal!"  And, as with LSU, I will cheer for the Stanford Cardinal EXCEPT when they play UT! ;)

I know this is old news, but this is the first chance I've had to get on the site. For some reason I've been blocked from making entries on my work computer. I think they have blocked forum participation.
Anyway...yes, we are proud of our Lady Cardinal. They had a great season and deserve lots of praise. They just ran out of gas, adrenalin and focus. They'll be back. So kudos to both the winners and losers.

Well, I tried Rick. But every time I hit "Logout" it didn't. I never could "Logout". I'm O.K. on my home computer, but for some reason my PC at work no longer wants to obey my commands on this site. (Sigh) :shrugging::shrugging::helpme::helpme:

My wife works for a local county. Their computer department has prohibited them from visiting certain web sites, even upstanding, decent web sites like this and also has software in place which blocks employees from using such sites and reports to the computer department if you do.  Don't know if something like that may have been made in effect in your workplace, however, it would not surprise me if it has.  Just the way things are nowadays, sadly.

Did it do anything?  Did it reload the page and still show you logged it, or did nothing happen at all?  Did the pointer change like when you're pointing to a hyperlink?  When you hover your pointer over the link, does it show the page URL in the status bar at the bottom of the screen?  When you click the "Logout" link, tell me exactly, step by step, what happens.  You can do it in a PM if you like, as it's really :offtopic: here.
