I am a sponsor for an 8th grade confirmation student at our parish. I would love some suggestions for a confirmation gift. I've considered a saint medal and a teen Catholic Bible. I know she has a Catholic Bible so I'm not so sure about that one.
Thanks!
Trish

In the Recommended Resources forum was a list started a long time ago by Rick that has some great online places for gifts. And at Christmas time I posted in there (not sure if it was his thread or not) about places to get Catholic shirts, they have some really cool ones out.
I think one of those, plus a teen Bible or teen Catechism, and a patron saint medal/statue or something along those lines.

I'm a sponsor for a Confirmation candidate this year. I think that the role of sponsor is a special blessing, and I'm giving her a nice statue of her Confirmation saint. I wanted something that would last for years, since being a sponsor is a honor.
I'm also assembling (with her mom's permission and blessing) Catholic books on chastity/purity. Since my candidate is in public school and has been bombarded with secular values, it's my responsibility to lead her to the truth. So far, I have books by Jason Evert and Mary Beth Bonacci for her.
(It should be her parents' responsibility, but they're not Catholic. Long story why they had their kids baptized & receive the Catholic sacraments.)

There are some really great books called 101 Inspirational Stories of the Rosary and 201 Inspirational Stories of the Holy Eucharist by Sr. Patricia Proctor. My daughter got the Rosary one for her confirmation, and I've also read the Eucharist one as it's at the Adoration chapel. Very good stories from real life people of how God has touched their lives through the Eucharist and the Rosary. Most of them are about 1 page long, so it's easy to pick up and just read a few.

Thank you for all the suggestions! I've not seen the Inspirational Stories but I will definitely check into those.
