Earlier this evening, I was watching EWTN (the Eternal Word Television Network).  Deacon Bill Stedelmeier, who is one of their officials, said that they are a little "behind" in their finances and also need help in covering the Pope's visit this coming week.  They certainly seem to me to be a very worthy cause. I would respectfully encourage everyone who reads this to look up the EWTN web page and consider making a gift to them, even if it is only a few dollars, to help them in this time of financial need. I would not normally bring something like this up, however, EWTN does such a wonderful job of providing excellent Christian programming about the Catholic Church.  I feel that they are very worthy of our help.  :waving:

I agree Marshall.  Covering the Pope's visit will be enormously expensive and the network depends solely on donations for their operating expenses.  We depend on them to provide us with that and so much else.  A few dollars from everyone would amount to a good contribution.  Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

We got our tax refund back and always donate a percent of it.  We will put EWTN on the list for this year.  (BTW, CHNI is getting a donation too.:))

Thanks for raising this.

Anne

we have a meatless meal fund- anytime I convince my lot to eat meatless I put the cost of my average meat into a fund, once it builds a little it goes to charity-  The "boys" of the family are a little more open minded about meatless meals since I started this. I am told that Texans consider meat of of the essential food groups( not protein -just meat:roflmho:)
