Father T. told me after mass yesterday that he has turned in my name to the diocese for training in "formation". I have heard him use that word in at least three different contexts. Does anyone know what the official meaning of that word is, what is involved, etc.?

"Formation" basically means "training".  You can enter formation to serve as a catechist, or an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, or a priest or religious, or any other ministry in the Church.  So the next question would be, "Formation for what?".

OK, thanks Rick. I am already an EMHC and I am too *** to get into a training program for priest or religious so maybe he means some formal training regarding some other ministeries of the parish. I have noticed that lately, the leader of the servers of the 7:30 mass has been showing me and telling me in detail, how to set up for the 7:30 and 9:30 masses. (BTW, he sees me as a youngster. He is in his mid-80s!!!) I would talk to him more about it but I have a very hard time understanding him with some words. For some reason, his Tagalog accent throws me. Anyway, thanks Rick. :)

We have a priest in our diocese who entered the seminary at 70 and recently semi-retired at 82.  Never say never!

EMHC = Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.

Too *** to do something = a few too many 39th birthdays.

Buried next to Roy Rogers?  I think Cliff will hold out for the plot next to Trigger.

Yeah, Cliff IS pretty "extraordinary"! ;)

I thought that Trigger is stuffed and in a museum!  Guess, when he passes on, we'll have to stuff Cliff, put him in a cowboy outfit and put him on Trigger's back!  Maybe he could be holding a missal in his hand too!  :D  At Virginia Military Institute, in Lexington, VA, they have Stonewall Jackson's horse Little Sorrel stuffed in their museum so Trigger isn't the only stuffed horse!

Trigger is not buried. He is in a museum back in Branson, MO. Also, Roy lived one street South of me so I guess I should be buried one row South of Roy and Dale. However, let's wait awhile ..... OK?

Cliff, although I affectionately tease you and CajunRick, I hope and pray that God will grant you two long life and good health allowing you to continue to worship and serve Him here upon earth for quite some time to come!  I enjoy your posts!  May God bless you and yours and thank you for all that you do to serve Him!  :waving: And, as ol' Roy and Dale used to sing, "....happy trails to youuuuu!!!" ;)
