Earlier this evening I was watching a television program about Ivan the Terrible in Russia.  Came to find out that St. Basil's, the church in Red Square in Moscow, which looks like some ice cream cones bunched together, is set out in the form of a six pointed star, is supposed to represent Jerusalem and that desire that Moscow would be come "the new Jerusalem".  Anyway, that brought to mind the question, can protestant's receive, during Mass,  in the Russian Orthodox Church. How about in the Eastern Orthodox Church?  Just wondered. Anybody happen to know?

:shrugging:

Catholics permit Orthodox to receive, but Orthodox do not reciprocate.

erm not sure if I should admit this - but we did - our tour guide insisted this was the only church where we could go. It was enlighting and confusing but the architecture was stunning and the feeling of faithfullness around us was beautiful.

The Catholic Church does not object to Catholics receiving Eucharist in an Orthodox church.  It is the Orthodox who do not permit Catholics to receive except in the most extreme circumstances.

this was in the early 90's when you did as you were told by the 'tour guide' who I am sure had various other job titles.
