So, I just got back my grades and um, was quite flabbergasted to see that somehow I received an F in my history course. I don't mean to sound conceited when I say I don't think that's humanly possible. I mean, I don't think I could fail a course even trying to fail.
Needless to say, it's a little bothersome. So, I've e-mailed the professor and have attempted calling him as well. What unnerves me is who the professor is. With any other professor I would automatically assume it's a mistake, but with this guy... you just never know.
*sigh*
And I was having such a nice day, too.

Well, I pray that it's an error of some sort. One almost needs to TRY these days to get an F. Teachers seem to bend over backwards to get the class to pass. Either that, or I have heard of teachers failing someone who holds beliefs in opposition to the prof's, but that's usually at a secular college.
Let's hope he just colored in the wrong bubble....

Sounds more like some art teachers I've known. I hope it was just a mistake, Kayla.

Goodness.
Well, I just got off the phone with my professor.
He says he doesn't have a final for me. Um, I took the final, buddy!
So, he's going to look for it again and then, if he can't find it, he's going to rearrange percentages and yadda yadda, basically taking the final out of the mix of my grades. Which would mean I get an A.
Gah.
I wouldn't be half as upset if this guy wasn't so... I don't even know how to describe him. He came to teach our class half-way through the semester (our previous professor was diagnosed with brain cancer-- he's doing alright now), but he didn't put any effort into our class. He didn't teach us anything and spent the entire time telling jokes. Then, realizing we'd done nothing all semester long, he gave us three assignments in the last two weeks of school. He didn't grade them, or our finals, until after we had left school for the summer. In fact, he didn't do his grades until the day they were due for the university.
I mean, he's a nice guy... but this is my GPA he's messing with! And I'm a perfectionist and if I had a false idol it would be (well, Peter Kreeft) my grades.
Kim, I think you're right. A great lesson in humility.
Bah.

Well, it's a relief that it was a mistake. I pray your final turns up, Kayla! I know all about perfectionism, unfortunately. May God grant you the grade you've worked so hard for!
