Hello Everyone!

The Lord give you peace.

I'm Friar Rex, a hermit living a Franciscan charism in the Diocese of Portland, Maine under the canonical jursidiction of Bishop Richard Malone (Canon 603) and the "spiriutal guardianship" of the Order of Friars Minor, Immaculate Conception Province.

Just jonied the forum (thanks for the help Steve!) and wanted to introduce myself.

Please pray for me and my way of life as I pray for all of you who make up this cyber community.

Since a good deal of my life is spent in prayer, please do not hesitate to send your requests to me at LittlePortion@gmail.com

Pax et Bonum!

~Friar Rex

Welcome, Friar Rex, we're glad to have you here with us.

When you get the opportunity, perhaps you could explain a little about the life of a consecrated hermit.  It is not a vocation that many people (including most Catholics) know very much about.  I have had the privilege to meet a few hermits over the years, but I doubt if most of our members are even aware of such a vocation.

May good St. Francis be with you on your journey!

Hello Friar Rex,

It's wonderful to have you join us on the forum, and thanks for all your prayers. I've always had a soft spot for Franciscans, and St. Francis is one of my favorite saints.  I loved him long before I even converted.

I, too, would like to learn more about your vocation.

God bless you,

Dave

As you all may have noticed, Friar Rex, being a GOOD forum member  :D, has started a new thread for the story of his vocation.  You'll find it here.

Rex traemendae Magistratum! (It's been a long, long time since I sang Mozart's Requiem in h.s. and my spelling on the appropriate title here might be a bit off. Well, except for Rex. Even I couldn't goof that up. Congrats Friar Rex and welcome in! :D

Steven

PS: Are you located in Kennebunkport? I'm familiar with a Franciscan Monastery there.

Heeey, what's that supposed to mean, Rick?  We're all good little angels on this forum!

Anywho, welcome Friar Rex!  It's great to have you on the forum.  I'm looking forward to reading more about your vocation and your interaction on the forum.

Brother Rex, we have the pictures of your consecration up on our board near the front entrance.  We have that picture where you are lying on the floor, prostrate.  Well, some middle school kids came here to get a tour of the studio.  As they were leaving, one of the students saw that picture of you, and said, "Is he dead?"
I said, "Well, that's what happens if you don't listen to your parents.............."  [We did explain further.....]
Anyway, I thought you would enjoy.....:P
