In a nutshell, in order to build one of its abortuaries, PP needed to connect it to some multi-family housing.  Or something to that effect.....  Anyway, they offered some of their land to Habitat for Humanity of Sarasota, FL for $10.  Aren't they just so sweet???  At first, HFH accepted the offer, but apparently a hue and cry was raised, and so Habitat has decided not take the land.   :applause

Thanks be to God!  A good organization like HFH does not need to stain its existence with such a horrid, bloody business as PP.

Here is the summary of the original story that inspired many folks to express dismay to HFH.  I've driven a few nails for them.  It's a good group.  To read this made me ill:
Sarasota, FL (LifeNews.com) -- The Christian non-profit housing ministry Habitat for Humanity stands accused of helping a Florida-based Planned Parenthood overcome a hurdle to building a new abortion business. A pro-life advocate says Planned Parenthood would have been stymied in building the new center without the group's help. Planned Parenthood has been looking to build a new abortion facility in the Rosemary District north of downtown Sarasota. However, according to local zoning rules, the abortion business can't build the new center unless a multi-family housing unit is built on the back of the lot. According to Jim Sedlak of STOPP International, a Planned Parenthood watchdog group, the pro-abortion group approached the local planning board and asked for a five-year extension since it is not a builder and couldn't find a buyer for the lot. The board denied the request and insisted Planned Parenthood obtain a building permit for the residential building. Planned Parenthood came up with a creative solution and sold the lot to Habitat for Humanity for $10. "So, Habitat for Humanity, an organization that claims to be a Christian ministry, is now working with Planned Parenthood," Sedlak told LifeNews.com.

I don't understand what the zoning rule is meant to accomplish, but I'm glad PP was stymied in their effort to build.  Good for HFH!

Jill, I love your new avatar!  Can't stop looking at it!

How much thinking would it take for HFH to have avoided this sordid nonsense in the first place? It was a no-brainer from the start. PP isn't an unknown to people in the Christian realm, unless we're getting really complacent, and I'm not willing to be so pessimistic, though for the sake of pressing the question here: how much time are we spending in preventative vigilance when it comes to protecting the finances and good name of prolife cause?

Maybe we should follow Vince Lombardi's example of starting out the football camp: "Gentlemen, we start at the basics: This is a football ..."

"Folks, this is human life: It's too precious for us to take for granted ..." and go on from there. Satan's always out there prowling and trolling and we'd better be on our guard. ALWAYS.

Yeah, I love that avatar, too. Handsome boy! or  Beautiful girl!
