My husband and I have an agreement: every week we alternate deciding where to go to church. That's because we left a "seeker sensitive" church several years ago and hadn't really been looking for another church home until recently. So this week it was my turn to pick which church to go to. As usual, I picked a Catholic church; although he has been VERY wary of my interest in Catholicism, he is gracious enough to have allowed for this arrangement as we look for a new church home. The past times I've chosen a Catholic church he hasn't been at all comfortable - too formal, unfamiliar liturgy, people not friendly, etc.
So today we went to a small church (Rich - it's St. Denis on Avy at the end of Santa Cruz Ave.) and it was SO right that he cried through the service! And afterward he kept saying how much he liked it! The whole congregation sang the songs (which, apparently is rare, and that bothers him - as a long time worship leader - no end). The people were friendly, and when HE took the initiative after mass was over to go up and talk to the music person (only one - an excellent guitarist) and the priest, he found out that the congregation is very active and involved - another HUGE plus for him!
I'm so HAPPY! God has answered the cry of my heart!

PTL!!
Sounds a little like me. I had to be in the right place at the right time. When that "time" came the struggle was over. The light went on and the fullness of my lifelong Christian Faith came quickly.
Keep that smile on your face.

Marcee - Art,
wow the Holy Spirit is all over moving you. Glory to God!
You know, sometimes when the Lord has plans for your talents, it is the struggle against the craziness of the world and the way it thinks - even inside the Church that can be the hardest. Yet he allowed you to find and see the beauty that is with held in his Body of Christ, his Church.
John 20:
28 Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!"29 Jesus said to him, "Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."30Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of (his) disciples that are not written in this book. 31 But these are written that you may (come to) believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name. http://www.usccb.org/nab/bible/john/john20.htm
You guys and families hold steadfast, he has marvelous suprises ahead for you. You believed and persevered though you could not see.
Glory to God!
