Hello, I'm new.

I just wanted to test this out for the first time.

This is the first time I've seen a forum with spell check,  "Big High Five"

I really like the style and layout too.

Hope to visit soon

BBT:D

Hi, Betty.  Welcome to the forum.  I hope we'll be seeing a lot more of you.

Just as a point of information, I kept reading about the spell checker and looking for it.  It was driving me crazy!  I couldn't find a spell checker anywhere.

Well, the "problem" is that I was using a different browser called "Firefox" and apparently it doesn't support the spell checker and some of the other commands.  When I logged on with Internet Explorer, the missing buttons magically appeared.

So if anyone is wondering why you don't have a spell checker button, try a different browser.

(I'm writing to Firefox to ask them to fix the problem.  Explorer is much too susceptible to viruses for my taste.)

Information for Macintosh users: Mac OSX has a system-based spell checker, so you need not feel left out. Shift-Command-Semicolon is the default code to invoke the spell check.

For PC users who do not use Internet Explorer and for Mac OS9 users, there remains the expedient of writing your post in your word processor and, after spell checking, clipboarding it into the forum’s message box.

Hello Rick!

I've heard of you in these Catholic internet circles:) or maybe have you ever been on EWTN?

I'm a big fan of the Journey home program, DVR is set to record every episode incase I'm not watching tv.  It's possible I may be an EWTN Junkie too.

It's been a very long, hard, emotional, grief filled, painful, suffering to this day road but as of 4-19-2003 I'm the happiest Roman Catholic on the planet:DI think?  And I'd so love to visit with others about our Church and our faith.

Just a short snippet:  I grew up First Baptist, as a young wife re-entered the christian world at a Calvary Baptist Congregation. Walked away from there discouraged, confused and very disappointed.  To many confusing contradictions and I thought that the true church was lost.  We lived many years just going along with secular society.  Thats when I started a secret search.  I did not want any human interferance.  If you'd of told me 7 years ago that one day I'd be a Roman Catholic, I'd of told you that if she were the last church on earth, you'd not find me there.

So, Humbly happy, here I sit.  disabled, unemployed, Chronic pain 24/7, My husband and I have been married for nearly 25yrs, We have two son's one that lives at the UofW in Seattle and one that we're praying is with our lord in heaven or on his way. and strangly happy & peaceful about life and whats ahead of me.  For the most part I'm home bound, I get out a couple days a week (When Health allows) and volunteer to help some elderly folks and in the church office & of course Mass when physically able.  I spend my time Studying our faith, Praying alot, The church has taught & helped me to give purpose to my chronic pain situation.  I feel very blessed that we can still afford satalite tv so I can watch EWTN (I heard my hubbie tell someone the other day, I get every pennies worth on that chanel alone) and also have the internet to study and visit with other christians.  I don't really have any friends anymore, Their lifestyle, beliefs or both don't really work into mine anymore, But thats alright;) I'll keep praying for us all.

I'll not bore you guys any longer and go snoop around.

Thank You

BBT

Good Morning All!

I just joined up and thought I would post a quick hi to get started. I joined here because I've been looking for forums where mainly Faith and fellowship is shared. lol. I've had it up to my eyeballs with debate forums. Also, I target forums that specialize in areas where I work in at my parish. The Coming Home Committee is one of the ministries I work with there. I'm hoping to get some ideas and perhaps give this link to the members of the committee to check out to see if they like it.

Take care

Dennis

Hi Rick,

I was a part of the forum before as bill2111. I was born and raised Catholic fell away in my college years. I experienced a deep conversion in 1981 at a non-denom Church. At that time I renounced the Catholic Church at that time and talked to everyone I knew that was Catholic to turn away from the CC. I stayed that way for quite a while but started to mellow after about 17 years. About 4 1/2 years ago I started to get interested in the CC. I spent many hours into the night reading articles and testimonies on the Web. About 3 years ago I was welcomed back to the CC by a priest. Since that time I have fluctuated quite a bit on weather I was really doing the right thing. Every time I made up my mind that I did make a mistake I was drawn back. One thing that has been mostly consistent is that my devotional life is baed on Catholic devotionals such a Word Among Us and Magificat.

Although I have waivered about my decision I have not waivered on the Real Presence, Immaculate Conception, Assumption, and the Communion of Saints.

I guess the big hangup has been in my eyes the CC's failure to effectively teach her children over the years. But I do see the Holy Spirit at work in the CC in restoring the teaching mission of the Church.

I have also been hampered by the fact that my wife (Born in the CC, we were marrreid in the CC but followed me to non-denom years ago) wants absolutley nothing to do with the CC (We are empty nesters). So it is a lonely pilgrimage for me. My 5 adult chiildren range from absolute opposition to what's the big deal.

So that's it in the nutshell.

God Bless

Dear "setapart" (which is the definition of HOLY),

You have a cute dog.  Have you heard Scott Hahn's testimony of becoming Catholic before his wife did?  Perhaps that would help you.  You might try this for the rest of your life (in other words, don't give up):  Keep praying for your family to love as Jesus loves (unconditionally) and to seek, find and obey The Lord in all they do.

Since you were married Catholics, then you probably expected to raise your kids Catholic at that time.  It's not too late.

I learned in RCIA that priests have to get permission of the bishop in order to forgive /  give absolution to Catholics who confess the sin of heresy (joining an ecclesial body after being Catholic).

Keep sharing your love of Christ Jesus and The Church with your family.  Were your kids baptized in the Trinitarian way?

All of us on CHN should pray for each other's families.

BLESSINGS TO YOU!
Go Fisher
