I started a topic and I'd like to reply by grabing some quotes from others. I have been unable to do so. Thank you in advance for the help.

The easiest way is to hit the "Quote" button instead of "Reply" and it will quote the entire previous message as I have done above. If you don't need to quote all of the message, you can delete any portions you don't need.
To quote from multiple messages, scroll down to the passage you want to quote and select it, then copy it (Ctrl-C), and then Paste it (Ctrl-V) into the message entry window. While it is still selected (or re-select it if necessary) click on the "Quote" button above the message entry window (the one with the double quotation marks).
Alternately, you can list the text using BB Code so that it will look like this:
| [quote]This is the text I want to quote[/quote] |
and it will come out looking like this:
This is the text I want to quote.
Some people have been copying text from other messages and changing the color, or just putting it in quotation marks, which also works, but I get a little confused sometimes remembering who has what color. I tend to use a different color for length quotes from scripture, the Catechism, Church documents, etc., just to make sure no one thinks this is my writing. That makes it clear where the quote begins and ends, and I would never want anyone to think I am quoting from the evangelists Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Dave.

Andy, welcome!
Click "reply". Then below your reply window you should see the comments you'd like to reply to. Cut and paste them into your reply. Then highlight the text you want to quote and click on the quotation marks in the upper right area of your reply window.
That should do it!
