The Forum Guidelines have been modified as a result of the number of spammers who have logged on recently, and a couple of incidents of users who have registered specifically to attack the Catholic Church.  The primary reason for the change is to notify those who would abuse the system that their registrations are subject to restrictions or deletions.  The average user will not be affected by the changes at all; however, it is required that all users read the Guidelines.  Your continued use of the forum indicates that you have read the Guidelines and agree to abide by them.

The Guidelines are located in the New Member Orientation and Technical Help forum under the heading Guidelines for Forum Use.

Please let me know if you see anything in the Guidelines which you find unacceptable.

The guidlines look OK and quite comprehensive to me.

Please pardon my ignorance. What are "flames"? :)

I'm glad you don't know!  Maybe the Internet is getting more civil after all.  A "flame" is a personal attack against another person.  For example, if someone posts something I don't like, I can reply by saying "I disagree with you" or I can say "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard, you moron!"  The former is permitted here.  The latter is not.

BTW, if the person being called a moron responds that the other one is an idiot and so's his mother (or similar, especially profane, expletives), a "flame war" has broken out.  That's not allowed either.

I guess I have turned 39 too many times. That is a new one on me! I know I am out of touch with contemporary music but I did not know I was out of touch with contemporary language as well. Thanks, Rick. :)

Me?  Rude?  Can't be!

Seriously, if there is an example of something that sounds rude, PLEASE let me know ASAP.

I was talking about that!  It was very funny and I appreciate the giggle.  Not doing much of that right now.

Love,

Laura

OK, I see what you're talking about.  I wasn't being rude, just explaining rude behavior.  You know, sort of like jumping off a bridge and screaming on the way down, "Don't do this!" :P

It wasn't necessary, but it's appreciated.

Betty, I'm sure you've noticed that we're not afraid to do that, but there are situations where matters are best discussed in private.

One more silly question, When I use web-Addresses as my source, That alright isn't it?

If you're talking about posting a link to a web site, it's actually preferable to copying the information and posting it here, unless you know that the site's copyright policy permits you to cross-post.  Does that answer your question?
