When you first register for forum membership, you are asked a few basic nuggets of information such as your user name and email address, and whether you want your email address made public.
Other information about yourself can be listed in your user profile, which can be accessed by clicking the "My Account" button on the forum's home page. A little bit of personal information about yourself, such as your current denomination, your home country, state, and city, your date of birth, etc., can help others to find out a little bit of who you are and what you are interested in.
As with any forum, you shouldn't enter personally identifiable information that makes you uncomfortable, but entering your home country and state can help others to relate better to you. For example, a person who is from your area may seek information about a good church to attend, or a good faith formation program, or a compassionate priest to help with marriage questions.
Entering your birthday allows us to recognize the day and honor you. Birthdays show up on the calendar. If you don't want to give us your age you can enter 0000 as the year, and all we'll know is the date. The more you are comfortable entering, the better we will get to know you and the better we will be able to help.

Rick,
Love your new picture I am trying to add a picture myself and to update my profile, but when I went to my profile I was not allowed to fill in the blanks. What do I do?
