Hey folks,
I just had to share.
I just found out that my marriage situation is fine! There is no impediment to my coming into the Church.
I'm so relieved, and so glad that I made an appointment to speak directly with the Pastor. He asked me a series of questions, told me I was fine, gave me a copy of A Catholic Catechism for Adults, and wished me well. He told me that he would be happy to bless my marriage should I ever request that, but that it was not necessary for my entry into the Church.
The background is that I was raised and baptized as a Jehovah's Witness. My husband was baptized and raised Catholic, then left the Church and was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness. We met and married after he became a JW. It was the first marriage for both of us, and we are still married.
I had talked to some of the people who run the RCIA program and they weren't sure about the situation. So I was worried.
But with this "ruling" by Father Noe, I can quit worrying and enjoy the RCIA process.
*smiles*
Ruth

Beth,
No, my husband says he will never set foot in a Catholic Church again.
But the Blessed Virgin Mary and I have been working on that :-)
