Winter interuped our planned classes for almost a month with weather ranging from -20 C to -50 C. It has warmed up now and our classes have resumed. At our last class we had the pleasure of having a chat with our deacon. Turns out he is a former Lutheran, and completely understands where we are comming from. We are enjoying our classes very much, and appreciate all of your prayers. Thank you everyone.

Hi, Andy,

It's great to hear that you are enjoying your RCIA classes so much.

I was feeling a bit sorry for myself about the cold weather here until I read your post.  Temps here are pretty mild by comparison.

God bless,

Becky

I think Dave means that some people have had negative experiences with RCIA. It seems to vary from place to place, from parish to parish.

I was one of those people who had a couple of negative experiences in RCIA.  Fortunately, it wasn't every week and I joined the Church during Easter vigil 2 years ago.  The priests and deacon were great, but there was also a teacher who was very knowlegable about the Catholic faith and made sure that we knew it.  She even told me that after our first confession before we join the Church, we don't have to go again unless we commit a mortal sin and this isn't what my priest told us.  I guess what I'm saying to anyone in RCIA is if you have a question, ask your priest or deacon about it.  He will be glad to answer all your questions.
