Wes & Kelly Baker: Former Nazarenes

March 28, 2011 No Comments

Wes and Kelly Baker, a married couple, both grew up in the Nazarene tradition of Protestantism. They met as students at Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Ohio.  They shared an interest in worship music and a calling to serve the poor.  While working at a summer missions camp in NYC, Wes and Kelly were married.  They became intrigued with the “new monasticism movement”, living for a time in shared housing while completing their undergraduate degrees.  From a gift of a rosary from Wes’ father, seeds were planted in Catholicism.  They began attending St. Vincent de Paul parish in Mount Vernon.  It was there they found the richness of the Church and a faith home to live out their calling.  Today Wes and Kelly are part of Sancta Familia Apostolate and the Children of Mary Sisters.
